To provide data on the location, conditions and availability of resources in schools in South Africa in order to develop a strategy to improve schools in an equitable way.
A survey that included all institutions in South Africa. Survey forms were completed by school principals with the assistance of the provincial departments of education.
Indicators include school id, working conditions, employment status, labour and employment and others.
Surveys were conducted in each school, which included information on their geographical location, the condition of buildings and the facilities available.
