The data covers the year 2007
The dataset contains the names of protected areas, their categories (national park, national reserve, or wildlife sanctuary), the total area in hectares, the shape length, shape area, status of the protected area (gazetted or proposed) and the date gazetted (if gazetted).
This dataset was mapped using satellite images and supplemented by the Uganda government records (NATIONAL FOREST AUTHORITY (NFA)) and reports.
