To map and provide boundaries and locations of active fires and burns scars on satellite images taken during significant fire outbreaks in Sumatra and Kalimantan, Indonesia, in 2014 and 2015.
This dataset was collected as an initiative between Global Forest Watch Fires with Digital Globe and Tomnod campaigns.
Data contains 31,665 crowdsourced fires and burn scars locations, latitude and longitude coordinates and the crowd ranks.
The dataset was collected using Digital Globe 30-50cm satellite imagery. Tomnod’s CrowdRank statistical algorithm was used to identify the locations of maximum agreement among user contributions.
