To provide global information of total burned area at pixel and grid scale.

Context

Data covers the period 2001 to present.

What is included

Data consists of: burned area, burned area in vegetation class, confidence level, flag of pixel detection, fraction of burnable area, fraction of observed area, land cover of burned pixels, number of patches and standard error.

Collection Methods

Satellite observations data obtained through the analysis of reflectance changes from medium resolution sensors (Terra MODIS, Sentinel-3 OLCI), supported by the use of MODIS thermal information.
