Dataset Objective

To quantify the impact of the monthly wind anomalies on the fuel consumption and trip duration.

Context

The fuel consumption model comprises two major modules: resistance due to calm water, and resistance due to met-ocean parameters of wind, waves, and currents. For wind (eastward wind speed component, northward wind speed component), and waves (significant wave height, mean wave direction, peak wave period), the fifth generation ECMWF reanalysis for the global climate (ERA5) is used.

What is included

Data consist of: fuel consumption at fixed speed, fuel consumption at fixed shaft power, shaft power at fixed speed, ship speed at fixed shaft power and trip duration at fixed shaft power.
