To increase the total value added from livestock in the northern communal areas of the Republic of Namibia and to increase income from indigenous natural products accruing to the poor nationwide.
MCC’s $304.5 million Namibia Compact (2009–2014) supported rural development in Namibia’s Northern Communal Areas through the $12 million Community-Based Rangeland and Livestock Management Sub-Activity.
Data contains program implementation outcomes, households level information on consumption patterns, income, wealth, and food security of cattle-owning households, headman attitudes and grazing-area level information, changes in cattle productivity and herd structure, changes in ecological productivity and resilience, changes in management practices and social dynamics and related attributes.
Data was collected using sample surveys, focus group discussions, and in-depth interviews.
