To provide land cover classification gridded maps.

Context

Data covers the period 1992 to present with one year delay.

What is included

Land cover classes consist of: cropland rainfed, cropland irrigated or post flooding, mosaic cropland, mosaic natural vegetation, tree cover, mosaic tree and shrub, mosaic herbaceous cover, shrubland, grassland, lichens and mosses, sparse vegetation, tree cover flooded area, urban areas, bare areas, water bodies and permanent snow.

Collection Methods

Satellite observations defined using the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization’s (UN FAO) Land Cover Classification System (LCCS).
