Dataset Objective

To provide daily averaged global oceans estimates of stratification, density and hydrostatic pressure.

Context

The data was created as an improvement of the previous data collection version: Version 4 revision 4 (V4r4).

What is included

The dataset contains daily averaged global oceans estimates of stratification, density and hydrostatic pressure. The estimates are based on dynamically and kinematically-consistent reconstructions of the three-dimensional, time-evolving ocean, sea-ice, and surface atmospheric states.

Collection Methods

The data was collected using satellite imagery tools and remote sensing and other methods. The satellite tools used in collecting the data were satellite altimeters, satellite radiometers, satellite scatterometer, satellite gravimeter and expendable bathythermographs.
