Dataset
To provide data the intensity of ultraviolet (UV) rays from the sun.
Data used is collected between October 2004 and January 2011.
Data contains ultraviolet exposure a person could get on average during each month. The index is a scale of 0 to 16+, with 0 representing minimal ultraviolet exposure risk and values higher than 11 showing high ultraviolet exposure risk. Exposure to ultraviolet radiation is essential for the production of vitamin D, however long-term exposure causes sunburn, premature ageing, skin cancer and eye damage.
Data is derived from total column ozone was measured by the Ozone Monitoring Instrument (OMI) onboard the Aura satellite.
