To provide data to aid the modelling of flooding and also provide additional baseline meteorological monitoring in Kampala.
This network is one of a series of hydromet networks in urban centres in sub-Saharan Africa installed by NERC programme.
The parameters measured at the automatic weather stations are: barometric pressure, global radiation, precipitation, relative humidity, temperature, wind direction, wind speed and maximum wind speed.
Data consists of fifteen minute data from two automatic weather stations and three rain gauges located within Kampala.
