Dataset Objective

To provide a map of the wildest areas in Interrupted Goode Homolosine Projection .

Context

The dataset is derived from the LWP-1 Human Footprint Dataset. Gridded data are classified according to their raster value (wild = 0-1; not wild >1). The top 1% of the wild areas within each biome by realm are selected and identified. Dataset was produced by the Wildlife Conservation Society (WCS) and Columbia University Center for International Earth Science Information Network (CIESIN).

This dataset entails total land cover, land use, wild areas, gameparks and reserves.
