The Famine Early Warning Systems Network (FEWS NET) is a leading provider of early warning and analysis on acute food insecurity around the world. The Landcover map of Afghanistan details land cover for each of the provinces of Afghanistan. This map, produced through the collaborative efforts of FAO, UNDP and the Afghan Geodesy & Cartography Office Kabul, was created as a means of indicating land cover activities and patterns within the country, and can be seen as an important tool in the management of both agricultural activity and rehabilitation strategy.
The dataset entails agricultural lands, agriculture and range lands, and land cover activity.
