To provide data on health facility and health care in the state of Chiapas in Mexico.
This study is a baseline for health facility survey and is part of Salud Mesoamérica Initiative.
Dataset contains: general health facility characteristics, infrastructure, staff, supplies, equipment, availability of key maternal and child health care services, health facility record-keeping, family planning, treatment practices related to uncomplicated births, medical complications experienced by mothers or infants during delivery and child medical services.
Data were obtained through interviews with facility personnel and direct observation. 90 facilities participated in the survey.
