Dataset Objective

To provide data on healthcare facilities, maternal health, child health and health care services in Nicaragua.

Context

This study is a follow-up of health facility survey conducted in 2013 and is also part of Salud Mesoamérica Initiative.

What is included

Data consists of: health care facility characteristics, infrastructure, staff, supplies, equipment, availability of key maternal and child health care services, health facility record-keeping, family planning, treatment practices related to uncomplicated births, medical complications experienced by mothers or infants during delivery and child medical services.

Collection Methods

Direct observations and interviews with facility personnel. A total of 60 healthcare facilities participated in the survey.
