To provide data on healthcare facilities and health care conditions in the departments of Huehuetenango and San Marcos in Guatemala.
This study is the baseline health facility survey conducted under Salud Mesoamérica Initiative.
Survey covers the following topics: general healthcare facility characteristics, infrastructure, staff, supplies, equipment, availability of key maternal and child health care services, healthcare record-keeping, family planning, treatment practices related to uncomplicated births, medical complications experienced by mothers or infants during delivery and child medical services.
Direct observation and interviews with facility personnel. This survey covers 93 healthcare facilities.
