To provide systematic evidence on how local governments institutions and community-based organizations deliver primary health services.
The health policy has been guided by the Bamako Initiative to encourage and sustain community participation in primary health care services.
This survey investigates characteristics of the health facility, type of services provided, availability of essential equipment and drugs, use of epidemiological and public health data, sources of financing, number of primary health care facilities, management structures, health services outputs at the local government level, budget and financing.
