To provide estimates of mortality rates in 204 countries.

Context

Dataset provides annual estimates for under-5 mortality (5q0, or ages 0-4) and adult mortality (45q15, or ages 15-59), as expressed by probability of death, by sex for 1950-2019

What is included

Dataset consists of under-5 mortality (ages 0-4) and adult mortality (ages 15-59), expressed by probability of death and sex. Estimates consists of deaths due to wars, natural disaster, etc. as well as estimates produced without these types of deaths.

Collection Methods

Data is based on vital registration, census and sample survey.
