To provide data on child health, mortality and household characteristics in Yucatán, Mexico.
This is a a cross-sectional study exploring the delays faced during the search for care by caregivers of children under the age of 5 who died in the State of Yucatán, Mexico. Data is reported at sub-national level.
Dataset contains health care-seeking behavior during the final illness, using neonatal and child modules, household characteristics and review of medical records for children who died in medical units of the Secretary of Health of Yucatán.
Household census in which interviews were conducted with caregivers of the deceased children, verbal autopsy, review of medical records and surveys. Sample survey conducted are: health facility, household, individual, interview and verbal autopsy.
