To collect and map out a comprehensive data of land cover in Africa.

Context

The product is distributed in GeoTIFF format with a size of approximately 6GB together with the colour legend

What is included

This dataset investigates the trees cover areas, shrubs cover areas, cropland, grassland, vegetation aquatic, sparse vegetation, bare areas, bare areas, open water, and snow and/or ice.

Collection Methods

Sentinel-2A observations and Random Forest (RF) and Machine Learning (ML), were applied to transform the cloud-free reflectance composites generated by the pre-processing module into a land cover map.
