To provide baseline data for land use, land-use change and forestry (LULUCF) sector in Malawi.
This data was collected to support the Eastern and Southern Africa (ESA country) teams in developing and implementing land cover mapping efforts for the Agriculture, Forestry and Land Use (AFOLU) sector as scheme II.
Data contains forestlands (dense, moderate and sparse), croplands (annual and perennial), shrublands (closed and open), settlements, grasslands (closed and open), wetlands, water bodies, and other land covers.
Data was collected using satellite images through Landsat Thematic Mapper (Landsat 5) data using the supervised classification method.
