Dataset
The survey data was created to understand the changes and trend in living standards of individuals who were previously interviewed 16-19 years ago.
This was the sixth survey wave of the Kagera Health and Development Survey with the most previous having done in 2004
The dataset contains various indicators that measures the living standards of individuals. These indicators included in the dataset are general health, household composition (source of water, distance to waterpoint, availability of pit latrine) , housing, employment, migration, expenditure, education and other vital parameters on living standard.
This was a household sample survey conducted using questionnaires. The samples were obtained using two-staged stratification. The first stage was selection of 550 primary sampling units (PSUs) in Kagera region and then classified according to eight strata defined over four agronomic zones. The sampling strategy in KHDS 2010 was to re-interview all individuals who were household members in any wave of the KHDS 91-94.
