Dataset Objective

To estimate the degree to which a country achieves the target of guarding the access to water, adequate sanitation, reducing child mortality, and terrestrial biome within its borders.

Context

The Natural Resource Management Index (NRMI), 2010 Release is a composite index for 157 countries derived from the average of four proximity-to-target indicators for eco-region protection, access to improved sanitation, access to improved water, and child mortality.

What is included

This dataset contains child mortality, access to improved water supply, access to adequate sanitation, and ecoregion protection.

Collection Methods

The dataset is a composite country-level indicator calculated as the average of four “proximity-to-target” sub-indicators: biome/eco-region protection (percentage of biomes under protection, weighted), access to improved water, access to improved sanitation, and child mortality
