Dataset Objective

To investigate the amount of microplastics in biota in South Africa.

Context

Data was collected as part of the Commonwealth Litter Project (CLiP) to support Belize in taking action on plastics entering the oceans.

What is included

Data contains the spectrum analysis of plastic pieces found in the fish stomachs, the microplastic abundance in biota samples and same fish species contamination.

Collection Methods

Data was collected through laboratory analysis and direct observations.
