Dataset Objective

To provide data on the total amount of hazardous waste generated per unit of GDP.

Context

It covers the period of 2000 to 2019. This dataset is part of the Global SDG Indicator database compiled through the UN System in preparation for the Secretary-General's annual report on progress towards the Sustainable Development Goals.

What is included

This dataset contains the total hazardous waste generated per unit of GDP in kilograms per constant 2015 United States dollars by different countries. Other attributes in this dataset are the sustainable development goal code, footnotes, release series, goal label, description, target code, target description, global locations, geographic area name and code, parent geographic area name, geographic area type, earliest and latest years, available years, among other attributes.

Collection Methods

Data was collected from various governments ministries records, recycling agencies and supplemented by satellite images.
