Dataset Objective

To show the number of beach litter per square kilometer.

Context

This dataset covers the period of 2015 to 2020. This dataset is part of the Global SDG Indicator database compiled through the UN System in preparation for the Secretary-General's annual report on progress towards the Sustainable Development Goals.

What is included

This dataset contains the number of beach litters per square kilometers for different countries. Data also entails the sustainable development goal code, goal label, description, target code, target description, global locations, geographic area name and code, parent geographic area name, geographic area type, earliest and latest years, available years, among other attributes.

Collection Methods

Data was collected through waste monitoring and supplemented by satellite images.
