Dataset Objective

To map out solid waste disposal site in South Africa.

Context

Data was digitized from addresses provided in the following sources: "Survey of solid waste disposal sites listed by CSIR" as part of their work package 4, commissioned by the BioEnergy Atlas project. This data was obtained from the Department of Environmental Affairs. Sites were listed by the Department of Environmental Affairs in SAWIS (South African Waste Information Centre).

What is included

Data contains site name, site code, waste type, waste treatment permit, and solid waste disposal organization.
