To monitor the global reports on WASH progress as part of Joint Monitoring Programme so as to aid in policy formulations ands support
This dataset was collected as routine monitoring of WASH in countries by WHO/UNICEF (Joint Monitoring Programme)
The dataset comprises of 257 countries with respective population proportion estimates with access to basic sanitation services, basic access to drinking water services, open defecation, those using surface water, handwashing facilities at home, one-site sanitation facilities among other defined WASH indicators. This data set is for the years 2014-2017.
The data was collected through national representative households sample survey.
