To understand and compare national and subnational water risks like baseline water stress, riverine flood risk, and drought risk.
The future projections are based on CMIP6 climate projections for 3 scenarios covering 3 milestone years: 2030, 2050, and 2080.
Country and provincial rankings of baseline and future water risk indicators (baseline water stress, drought risk, and riverine flood risk) weighted by total water demand and sectoral water demand
Rankings are calculated by aggregating basin-level risk scores, weighted by the population or area of each basin within a country, across multiple water risk indicators such as baseline water stress, floods, and droughts. The resulting normalized scores are then used to rank countries on overall and indicator-specific water risk, facilitating global comparison.
