To measure household welfare with water availability and indicate the degree to which water scarcity impacts on human populations in 141 countries around the world.
The Water Poverty Index (WPI) is calculated using 5 components: resources, access, capacity, use, and environment. The WPI combines measures of water availability and access with the people’s capacity to access water.
Dataset contains: water resources, access, capacity, use and environment. Water poverty index is categorized as: severe, medium, high, low and medium-low. A country is considered water poor if the water is not enough available for their basic need.
Sample survey. Water poverty index is then calculated by combining measures of water availability and the capacity to access water.
