To map out the global geographical distribution of reserviors.
The main focus was to include all reservoirs with a storage capacity of more than 0.1 cubic kilometers, many smaller reservoirs were added where data were available.
This dataset entails name of reserviour, main basins, sub basins, name of nearest city, country name, height of dams, surface area of associated reservior, main use of reservior, lake names, and catchment area.
