To study drought and water supply in Ethiopia.
The data was collected by the British Geological Survey (BGS) as part of the Department for International Development (DFID) KaR programme, a collaboration between UK partners BGS and the Overseas Development Institute (ODI), and with the Bureau of Water, Mines and Energy in Amhara Region, Ethiopia.
The dataset contains the hydrochemical water quality composition (pH, sodium concentration in mg/l, Calcium, Sodium, Iron and other minerals) collected from springs, rivers and wells. It also contains information about the sample sources.
Data was collected using water sample analysis and field direct observations.
