This database consists of approximately 35,000 power plants from 167 countries globally. Thermal plants and renewables fuel types contain: coal, gas, oil, nuclear, biomass, waste, geothermal, hydro, wind and solar. The entries also contain information on plant capacity, generation, ownership, and fuel type.
The first step involves gathering and processing country-level data. This is done automatically from official government website and in other cases gathered manually. Finally the data from different sources is integrated.
