To measure human appropriation of freshwater resources.
Data covers the period 1996-2005. The water footprint is a measure of human’s appropriation of freshwater resources. The green water footprint is the volume of green water (rainwater) consumed, which is particularly relevant in crop production.
Dataset contains volume of green water (rainwater) used in crop production. Data available disaggregated per sector: agricultural production, industrial production and domestic water use. Estimation are given in cubic meter per capita per year.
Data is obtained through survey and monitoring.
