To develop an online geospatial database on water and agriculture developed by AQUASTAT through a sophisticated web platform, presenting regional and global datasets of water resources and water management.
The data shows major hydrological basins in the world
Data sets are organized by themes of hydrological basin, river and water bodies, irrigation and infrastructure, climate and analysis of the above themes.
The maps are produced by FAO and external data providers and applied as complementary to AQUASTAT's statistical data and concentrates on geographical information generated by spatial modelling. Data can be explored, queried and downloaded as geospatial information in commonly used GIS formats.
