References used for the database were: International Commission on Large Dams (ICOLD). 2007. The World Register of Dams, National Reports, Information obtained from national experts through AQUASTAT national surveys, April 2010 version of Global Reservoir and Dam (GRanD) database and The Internet.
Dataset contains: country in which the dam is located, name of the dam, river on which the dam is located, city closest to where the dam is located, height of dam in metres, capacity of reservoir in million (1 000 000) cubic metres and surface area of the reservoir in square kilometers.
