Dataset Objective

To show the proportion of total land area covered by seasonal lakes and rivers waters.

Context

This dataset covers the period of 2000 to 2020. This dataset is part of the Global SDG Indicator database compiled through the UN System in preparation for the Secretary-General's annual report on progress towards the Sustainable Development Goals.

What is included

This dataset contains the sustainable development goal code, goal label, description, target code, target description, global locations, geographic area name and code, parent geographic area name, geographic area type, earliest and latest years, available years, and the proportion of total area covered by seasonal lakes and river waters for different countries.

Collection Methods

This dataset was collected through satellite images.
