To provide information on hydropower dams in West Africa and India that would help in the assessment of floating solar PV potential.
Data is gathered after an assessment of the technological potential for development of floating solar photovoltaic (PV) projects on existing hydropower dams and other reservoirs, starting with a pilot in FY18.
Data consists of: name of dam structure, purpose of dam, geographical details, storage capacity of dam, reservoir area, reservoir capacity, voltage (kV) of existing transmission line, project type, project lifecycle, storage type, project cost, basin details, proximity to irrigation area and hydropower annual total generation.
Data gathered from World Bank hydro projects, surveys and monitoring.
