To provide data on the coverage of rivers in South Africa.
Data covers the period 2005/01/01 - 2005/12/31.
Data contains: length of the river, class i.e. perennial, non-perennial, catchment area, shape area and name of the river.
Satellite imagery and monitoring data based on a 1994 1:500 000 rivers coverage from the Chief Directorate of National Geo-spatial Information. Data is obtained from the Department of Water and Sanitation, South Africa.
