Dataset
To assess the quality of surface water in Arkavathi Reservoir Catchment and Command Area, India.
Based on the drainage features of the area, the study area is demarcated into six sub-watersheds and named accordingly (Table 1 in the article). Drainage map, Geology map, Contour map, and Digital Elevation Model (DEM) map are prepared using RS and GIS.
This dataset entails pH, temperature, DO, BOD for 5 days, COD, TSS, turbidity, TDS, conductivity, sodium as Na, potassium as K, calcium as Ca, magnesium as Mg, total hardness as CaCO3, chlorides as Cl, HCO3, Fluoride as F, Nitrate as NO3, Phosphate as PO4, Sulphate as SO4 Cr+6, Iron as Fe, Copper as Cu, Lead as Pb, Nickel as Ni, Zinc as Zn, total alkalinity as CaCO3, total coli form/100ml, faecal coliform/100ml and Sodium Absorption Ratio (SAR)
Laboratory analysis - 30 samples were collected over a study period of two years covering three prominent seasons of pre-monsoon, monsoon, and post-monsoon periods. These samples were then subjected to various physical, chemical, and bacteriological tests such as pH, temp., DO, BOD, etc.
