Dataset Objective

To provide and compare monthly averaged global ocean and sea-ice heat flux estimates.

Context

The data was created as an improvement of the previous data collection version with this being the revised 4th version: Version 4 revision 4 (V4r4).

What is included

The dataset contains monthly averaged global oceans and sea-ice surface heat flux estimates recorded between 1992-2018.

Collection Methods

The data was collected using satellite imagery tools and remote sensing and other methods. The satellite tools used in collecting the data were satellite altimeters, satellite radiometers, satellite scatterometer, satellite gravimeter and expendable bathythermographs.
