To access the quality of water, sanitation and hygiene infrastructure in rural healthcare facilities.
The dataset presents assessments from 2011–2012 on water, sanitation, hygiene infrastructure, and water quality—including access, functionality, handwashing facilities, toilet conditions, and microbial contamination—across rural healthcare facilities in Rwanda.
Indicators included are: general water and power, functionality of water points, availability of soap and water, state of toilets and latrines, water quality by testing the concentration of coliforms, E. coli and fluorine in the tap water samples and treated drinking water.
Direct observation and semi-structured interviews. Water quality tests were also conducted on water samples.
