Dataset Objective

To document data reported by member states on collection, treatment and discharge of urban waste water.

Context

The Urban Waste Water Treatment Directive (1991) concerns the collection, treatment and discharge of urban waste water and the treatment and discharge of waste water from certain industrial sectors.

What is included

This data consists of tables containing information on: reported period, agglomerations, urban waste water treatment plants(UWWPS) , links collections - UWWTPs, discharge points, receiving areas, sludge handling and treated waste water re-use at Member states. Also contains data reported by Member States under UWWTD reporting obligations.

Collection Methods

Reported data were uploaded by countries on CDR. Data quality was checked by the Reportnet Automatic QA system and technically accepted by UWWTD helpdesk team. Afterwards, they were automatically harvested from CDR to the UWWTD database in EEA Common workspace. The final dataset was exported from the UWWTD database as MS Access database file.
