This study is part of UNESCO-IHP and ARCEAU, 2016: Water, megacities and global change conducted in 15 cities of the world.
Data consists of: geographical details, number of inhabitants (in millions), number of main wastewater treatment plants, total capacity in dry weather, length of sewage network, percentage of households connected to the sewage network, proportion of wastewater treated with a preliminary treatment and/or marine outfall and proportion of wastewater treated with and advanced treatment. Cities: Buenos Aires, Mexico City, Los Angeles, New York, Chicago, Manila, Tokyo, Seoul, Beijing, Mumbai, Istanbul, London, Paris, and Lagos.
Data is obtained through surveys and monitoring.
