Dataset Objective

To show India's season-wise irrigated and rainfed crop areas around the year 2005.

Context

This study aims to map the rainfed and irrigated cropping area for 21 crops by integrating remotely sensed land use and land cover (LULC) data, crop calendars and survey-based census data.

What is included

Data contains the crop growing area and irrigated fraction for 21 crops in India's Kharif, Rabi and Zaid seasons.

Collection Methods

Data was collected through remote sensing and supplemented by the crop calenders and survey-based census data.
