Dataset Objective

To show the proportion of the population with access to improved drinking water sources.

Context

It covers the period of 1990 to 2015. This dataset is part of the Global SDG Indicator database compiled through the UN System in preparation for the Secretary-General's annual report on progress towards the Sustainable Development Goals.

What is included

Data contains the sustainable development goal code, goal label, description, target code, target description, global locations, geographic area name and code, parent geographic area name, geographic area type, earliest and latest years, available years, and the proportion of the population with access to improved drinking water sources for different nations/regions.

Collection Methods

This dataset was collected through sample surveys and monitoring. Data was also supplemented by satellite images.
