Dataset Objective

The data was created to provide accurate insights into Kenya's mortality rate attributed to unsafe or inadequate water, sanitation, and hygiene services, specifically diarrhoea diseases, intestinal nematode infections, and protein-energy malnutrition.

Context

This is part of provision of world economies data by CEIC to provide insight into more than 213 economies.

What is included

Included in the data is the Mortality Rate Attributed to Unsafe Water, Unsafe Sanitation and Lack of Hygiene per 100,000 Population in Kenya. There is also charts showing the visualization of mortality rate by age bracket. These include prevalence of diarrhoeal diseases, intestinal nematode infections, protein-energy malnutrition, anaemia and other key WASH related health indicators among infants (below 1 year, 5 years and 10 years) and adults.

Collection Methods

The data was obtained from the World Bank database and then categorized under Global Databases Kenya. The death rates were obtained by dividing the number of deaths by the total population. More specific, only deaths associated with inadequate WASH services (diarrhoeal diseases, intestinal nematode infections, and protein-energy malnutrition) were considered per 100,000 population.
