The data measures riverine and coastal flood risks under both current baseline conditions and future projections in 2030, 2050, and 2080.
The data includes riverine and coastal coverage, drivers of climate change, forest data, water risks, global environmental issues, risk analysis, and cost-benefit analysis of flood hazards. Includes downloadable floods hazard maps.
Aqueduct Floods uses global hydrological and hydraulic models (such as the GLOFRIS modeling framework) to simulate riverine and coastal flood hazards under current and future climate and socioeconomic scenarios, then combines these with exposure data (population, GDP, urban assets) to estimate flood risk and supports cost–benefit analysis of flood protection strategies.
