To provide data on water quality, water resources and household characteristics of residents in Naivasha sub-county.
This dataset can be used by researchers, NGOs, and policymakers to design better WASH (Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene) programs, improve household water security, and test climate resilience strategies in semi-arid areas like Naivasha.
The dataset contains: education level, age, gender, drinking water treatment, i.e., boiling, use of water guard and chlorination, treated rainwater, treated water from shops, source of drinking water, proximity to water sources, water cost, water cost, community forums, the person in charge of water collection, water availability and water quality of drinking water from boreholes. Water quality parameters consist of calcium, chloride, conductivity, fluoride, iron, manganese, nitrate, nitrite, sulfate, temperature, total dissolved solids, turbidity, pH, and fluorosis.
