Dataset Objective

To provide annual estimates for HIV incidence and mortality among adults ages 15-49 for 44 countries.

Context

Annual estimates were produced for HIV incidence and mortality among adults ages 15-49 at the 5x5 km-level for 44 countries in sub-Saharan Africa between 2000 and 2018.

What is included

Data consists of: age group, sex, country, HIV incidence, HIV mortality, metric, lower quartile and upper quartile.

Collection Methods

Data consists of geo-positioned dataset created from 717 sources representing antiretroviral treatment data in UNAIDS Spectrum country files, country-level reports from the Health Management Systems database, HIV seroprevalence surveys, ANC Sentinel Surveillance data, covariate surveys and country specific surveys.
