To provide a quantitative information to identify and address urgent economic development and policy priorities in Pakistan.
This was conducted as the first round of the Pakistan Rural Household Panel Survey by the International Food Policy Research Institute (IFPRI), assisted by the Innovative Development Strategies (IDS). Research funds were provided by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID).
Data contains information on sources of income, nature of employment, consumption patterns, time use, assets and savings, loans and credit, education, migration, women decision making, economic shocks, transfers in and out, health and nutrition, and participation in social safety nets.
Data was collected using a households sample survey administered by use of questionnaires with the mode of the in-person interview.
